Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah, an Indian artist and actor, is most well known for her work in Tamil and Malayalam films. She made her acting debut with the Tamil movie Pachaikili Muthucharam and made her Malayalam debut with Annayum raolum. Andrea Jeremiah is an Anglo-Indian born in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father is an attorney in the Madras High Court. She has one younger sister who works in Leuven Belgium as an assistant to research. Jeremiah has a family in the vicinity of Chennai, graduated from National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea started in piano class at eight, is called a "geek" and aspired to become a psychiatric patient until her 12th grade board exam. When she was 10, she was involved in the Jackson Five-style troupe called Young Stars which formed the beginning of her early recording and composing music career. In college days, she also was an artist in the theater and participated in various stage productions arranged through The Madras Players. Andrea was women's college's president. Student Senate. Andrea began her stage career through Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. The actress acted in the new leo coffee advertisement with actor Shiva in 2006. She was also in a show that was shown on Podhigai. She has performed all over India. She had a small role in the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). When she sang a tune in Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu the director asked her to join as one of the lead female character in his next project Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. The film features Andrea acting as Kalyani an aspiring homemaker, whose husband is involved in an affair and is forced to confess. Andrea was picked for the role after Simran and Tabu were two actors who were approached by producers. The film was released in the early part of 2010. It was announced in the year 2011 that she would take on a small support role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha and it was released in August 2011, In 2013, she made her debut in Malayalam cinema with Rajeev Ravi's romance film Annayum Rasoolum.
