Summer glau

The actress must really have had an impact as she converted that single episode into starring in Whedon's next big hit TV series, Firefly. Summer Glau's River Tam character was complex and Glau did a great job of handling it. Tam, as the character from the film was named, was the subject of tests by the government that were intended to create her into a perfect assassin. Tam was unable to control her emotions as a result. Glau had the opportunity to show off not only her acting talents, but her skills as a combat ace as a character in Firefly. Glau's ability to fight was improved by her education to become an"Assassin. Summer Glau is a classically educated ballerina. The injury to her right foot but it was her broken toe that brought an end to her dance career. Firefly ran for only the duration of one episode, but enjoyed a huge fan base. Whedon's fans were so passionate that Whedon returned to it 2 years after. Summer Glau was still getting quality work in the interim.
